Vessel is the result of a lifelong passion for baskets, and a desire for respect and equality of opportunity for the people that make them.  We source carefully chosen selections of baskets in limited batches.

For Batch 1 we have collaborated with Vikapu Bomba to bring you baskets made in the Iringa region of Tanzania.  Baskets from this region have a specific character due to the Milulu grass used to weave them and quality that lasts decades.  The skill of weavers in Iringa goes back generations. Vikapu Bomba have brought together a community of over 150 weavers and enabled them to sell to markets that otherwise would have been difficult to access.
